Hatha Yoga
Traditional Hatha Yoga
The meaning of the combination of the words "ha" (meaning sun), and "tha" (meaning moon) is elevating oneself above the realm opposites and attaining a state of oneness. It helps develop the subtle energetic body by means of physical exercises (asanas - body postures; pranayama techniques - breathing exercises; and kriyas - purifying exercises), with which it aims to influence mental processes and balance the functioning of consciousness - thus physical practice is only the means, not the goal. With physical practice one can create a basis on which further, deeper exercises can be build, whose aim is to learn about consciousness itself.
I am currently participating in a hatha yoga instructor training; I am planning to start holding beginner hatha yoga classes from February, 2013.
